Emicool inks agreement to enhance solar power capacity by 238%

Emirates District Cooling Company (Emicool), which is a joint venture between Actis LLC, a renowned international investor in sustainable facilities, and Dubai Investments, a leading investment firm listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), and Emirates Electrical Engineering (EEE), a reputed company in the UAE’s solar market, have inked a Power Purchase Agreement.

The contract confirms that Emicool is enhancing its solar power production by 238% within the boundaries of its District Cooling Plant 1 (DCP1) and headquarters in Dubai Investments Park 1.

As per reliable sources, the deal is in line with Emicool’s strategic aims towards boosting the use of clean, renewable energy in its operations and aids the shift to low-carbon energy, thereby improving the total penetration of solar energy in its portfolio.

With the help of the most recent solar façade transformation project, Emicool wants to increase the solar production capacity for the DCP1 facility to 350 KWP.

Emicool’s CEO, Dr. Adib Moubadder, stated that as a significant economic player in the UAE, the firm was pursuing initiatives to support and improve the country’s strategies, s犀利士
uch as the 2050 Strategy of the UAE and Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, thereby contributing to the company’s broader sustainability agenda.

Moubadder added that Emicool was focused on incorporating new technologies to achieve net-zero emissions and that this collaboration would have a major influence on the organization’s business by boosting and reforming existing goals to enhance green energy penetration.

The firm has developed a successful business platform that now includes 18 operational DC (District Cooling) facilities, with a combined cooling capacity of over 330,000 TR.

Emicool also has a successful track record in providing high-quality cooling services. The organization offers district cooling solutions to RTA Metro Stations (Expo line), Dubai Sports City, DIP, Uptown Mirdif, Palazzo Versace, Mirdiff Hills and Damac Hills, Dubai Motor City, and Night Souk by Nakheel.
