Nissan India to renovate Chengalpet medical college & hospital

Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan Motor is reportedly planning to invest around Rs 2 crores (USD 250,322) to upgrade the medical college and hospital infrastructure in nearby Chengalpet district.

The automaker, in collaboration with Hand-in-Hand (HiH India), a non-governmental organization, has renovated the MOPD (Medical Out-Patient Department) and is also planning to take up the construction of a new waiting hall at the campus of the hospital.

While commenting on the move, Nissan Motor’s MD, Rakesh Srivastava said that directed by the global vision of People First, Nissan India has constantly been working on several corporate social responsibility initiatives in the areas of road safety, health and well-being, community development, promoting equity by promoting the most disadvantaged and marginalized groups.

The new and refurbished infrastructure at the hospital will serve a massive number of residents of Tamil Nadu and is a considerable step forward for strengthening healthcare access, he added further.

As per credible sources, the MOPD (Medical Out-Patient Department) was recently refurbished and was inaugurated by the Minister of Tamil Nadu for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises ‘Thamo’ Anbarasan, and several top government officials were also present, like Chengalpet region collect Ragul Nath.
