PNE AG sells five Romanian solar photovoltaic projects to TotalEnergies

Non-profit giant, PNE has successfully consented with TotalEnergies Renewables SAS on selling five photovoltaic solar projects in Romania. Apparently, the projects under development constitute a combined total size of 208 MWp (megawatt peak)

PNE will look after the further project development until the ready-to-build stage will be achieved.

The agreement highlights the customers’ faith in PNE’s progress as a Clean Energy Solutions Provider.

CEO PNE AG, Markus Lesser, expressed delight that TotalEnergies trusts in their proven expertise across the solar photovoltaic domain.

According to Markus, this deal confirms PNE’s ‘Scale Up 2.0’ strategy’s appeal in the industry while extending its resilient business model and simultaneously enhancing the company value by offering ready-to-build projects.

VP Renewable Explorer, New Markets, Marin de Montbel, claimed that the purchase of these five solar projects in Romania perfectly illustrates TotalEnergies’ commitment for designing its renewable energy activities in the nation, precisely in Eastern Europe as part of the Green Deal.

It has been reported that the transaction parties have come to terms with not disclosing the purchase price.

510 MW/MWp of wind and solar PV projects were successfully produced and sold by PNE throughout its more than ten years of operation in Romania. In fact, there are 1 GW worth of projects being worked on right now.

For the unversed, PNE Group is SDAX-listed, and is one of the highly experienced project developers of onshore as well as offshore wind farms. It has turned into a clean energy solutions provider based on this success.

PNE also works on the development of power-to-X solutions, and offers several solutions in photovoltaics, electricity storage and services.

Meanwhile, TotalEnergies, as part of its plans of getting to net zero emissions by 2050, is building a suite of activities in renewables and electricity.
